The art market is in the throes of change. The emergence of new technologies and the rapid growth of new means of communication are opening up an unprecedented window on the world. Obviously nothing will ever replace direct contact with artworks. But international borders and languages need no longer be barriers between art lovers, collectors, and art dealers.
The Offenstadt Gallery is one of the first totally virtual art galleries. It is the outcome of a venture launched in 1999 by an independent and pragmatic art historian. Visible exclusively on the web, the gallery hopes to welcome many visitors.
The gallery is directed by Patrick Offenstadt, who is the recognized expert of Jean Beraud, Albert Dubois-Pillet and Henri-Edmond Cross.
The catalogue raisonné of Albert Dubois-Pillet is on line on this website today.
As for the catalogue raisonné of Henri-Edmond Cross (paintings and watercolours), it is near completion.
